Local Rules (Munising Township – Good Citizen Policy)
Our community values a quiet, respectful environment for both permanent and seasonal residents. These rules are enforced under township ordinance and state law. Violations can result in fines, citations, or removal from the rental property.
Noise
- Quiet hours are 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- This is backed by township ordinance — you can be cited and fined for violations.
Parking
- Park only in the driveway or garage. My properties have plenty of on-site parking.
- No street parking. You could be ticketed.
Dogs
- Dogs must be leashed in unenclosed areas.
- Prevent excessive barking to avoid neighbor complaints.
- Failure to comply may result in citation, fines, or expulsion from the property for both the renter and their guests.
Boating
- Follow posted no-wake hours and general boating etiquette.
- Maintain safe distances from docks, swimmers, and other boats.
Campfires
- Recreational fires in a designated fire pit are permitted. Avoid fires during no-burn orders or adverse conditions.
- If you choose to have a fire during adverse conditions, you are 100% responsible for controlling it and any damage it causes. Use common sense and never leave a fire unattended.
Trail Access
- At this house, trail access is via public roads — do not cut through private property.
- A reference map is posted in the house.
Property Lines
- Stay within the clearly defined yard areas for the rental.
- A property map is posted in the house for clarity.
Fireworks (State of Michigan law)
- New Year’s Eve: 11:00 AM Dec 31 – 1:00 AM Jan 1
- Memorial Day Weekend: Sat & Sun before, 11:00 AM – 11:45 PM
- June 29 – July 4: 11:00 AM – 11:45 PM daily
- July 5 (if Fri or Sat): 11:00 AM – 11:45 PM
- Labor Day Weekend: Sat & Sun before, 11:00 AM – 11:45 PM
Violating these times can result in tickets or citations. Noise rules still apply.
